A Texas assistant coach still critical after being hit on sideline

Scurry-Rosser High School assistant coach Mark Bachtel remains in critical condition after being hit out-of-bounds on the sideline during a play Friday night.  Bachtel reportedly fell backwards and struck his head causing what is being reported as a skull fracture.

Mark’s son Jason Bachtel is the team’s head coach.  The game was called-off after Mark’s injury.  Malakoff led Scurry-Rosser 73-27 at the time of the accident.

A vigil was held for Coach Bachtel last night.
