Alabama high school football players to be charged with assault in hazing incident

WKRG-TV in Mobile, Alabama is reporting that police have taken three of the four boys involved in the football hazing incident at Davidson High School last month into custody. The assault on 14-year old Rodney Kim, Jr. was caught on tape.

Here is a statement that was released from police late Monday afternoon:

“The four students who were suspended by school personnel will be charged with assault third degree. Three of the four students have been taken into custody. This investigation is ongoing.”

Kim suffered a broken arm in the assault and his parents are suing the Mobile County Board of Education for $12 million.

School officials have decided to cancel its spring game against Baldwin County that was scheduled for May 18.
