Five years of frustration ended Friday night for Alta (12-1) High when it beat arch-rival Bingham (11-2) in the 5-A semifinals 21-17.

The game was a rematch of the exciting 2006 title game that was won by Bingham 21-19, which was Bingham’s fifth straight win over the Hawks. Alta will play Layton next week for Utah’s big school championship.
