Bishop Gorman’s run to 2016 National Champs

As I stated by at the end of September, the 2016 “mythical” national championship chase was put to bed early this year.  Bishop Gorman vaulted to the top spot in the nation on September 9th when it beat then #1 St. John Bosco (California) with an impressive second half comeback, and never looked back.

Bishop Gorman, who beat three state champs this season — #2 St. John Bosco, #6 St. Thomas Aquinas (Florida) and #26 Cocoa (Florida) — are the 2016 High School Football America national champs.

Finishing a close second in our National Top 50, which is created with our proprietary algorithm, is St. John Bosco, which finished the season with an impressive run to capture California’s Open Division championship.

Rounding-out the Top 10 are IMG Academy (Florida) at #3, Grayson (Georgia) at #4, DeMatha (Maryland) at #5, St. Thomas Aquinas at #6, Lake Travis (Texas) at #7, St. Joseph’s Prep (Pennsylvania) at #8, Trinity (Kentucky) at #9 and Corona Centennial (California) at #10.

Congratulations to every team in the nation as we look forward to 2017!

And, Merry Christmas!!
