On Sunday, we saw a huge shuffle in the High School Football America Top 25. That shuffling was also seen in the USA TODAY Super 25, MaxPreps Xcellent 25 and PrepNation’s National Prep Football Poll and it dramatically affects this week’s media compilation poll.
Bishop Gorman (Nevada), ranked #1 by the Super 25, Xcellent 25 and National Prep Poll, is the new #1, taking-over for last week’s #1 St. Thomas Aquinas (Florida), which tumbles to #8. The Gaels, who were #3 in last week’s media poll, are ranked #2 in the High School Football America Top 25.
IMG Academy (Florida) stays in the two-hole, followed by St. John Bosco (California), our #1 team. The Braves moved-up four places in this week’s media poll.
Rounding-out the top five are Mater Dei (California) at #4 and Booker T. Washington (Florida), which moves-up ten spots after its big win over St. Thomas Aquinas on Friday.
Our media poll awards points to a team on the basis of its ranking in each poll. For example, the #1 team receives 25 points, the #2 team receives 24 points and so forth down to #25.
