Nederland High School is making Colorado football history by naming Beth Buglione as the school’s new head football coach. Buglione is believed to be the first woman to head a high school football program in the state.
This won’t be Buglione’s first time as the head coach of a high school boys’ team. According to the Daily Camera, Buglione recently served as Sheridan High School’s head coach in Oregon. She also served as an assistant coach at Oregon’s Philomath High School.

Buglione told the Daily Camera — “I was fortunate that there was a very accepting coaching community in Oregon. If you know what you’re doing, the kids are going to accept you and the other coaches are going to accept you.”
Buglione also served as coach, general manager and owner of the Corvallis Pride, a team in the Independent Women’s Football League. That team folded in 2009.
