The race for the #1 team in 2015 High School Football America/SoCal Top 25 has come down to two teams — Corona Centennial and Mission Viejo.

Corona Centennial moves to the top of this week poll that is created with our proprietary algorithm after beating former #1 St. John Bosco 62-52 on Saturday night in the CIF-Southern Section Pac 5 championship.  The loss dropped the Braves to #2.

While the Huskies control their own destiny and can finish #1 by beating De La Salle on December 19th in the CIF Big School Open Division championship, Mission Viejo still has a shot at the top stop.

Mission Viejo will play Helix Friday night in the Divison I-AA CIF Southern Regional Football Bowl Championship final.  If the Diablos win, they’ll advance to the state bowl championship game against the winner of the Bellarmine/Folsom Northern Regional Football Championship.

A Husky loss and a Diablo state championship would more-than-likely put Mission Viejo in the top spot of the season ending Top 25 poll.
