North Bergen Bruins footballNJ.com reports that a New Jersey Superior Court has denied North Bergen High School‘s request to get back its 2011 state section football title that was vacated by the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association because the state’s governing body found the school guilty of recruiting two players.

The court’s ruling came 15 months after hearing arguments on why the title should be returned to the Bruins. North Bergen beat Montclair 14-13 in the North Jersey 1, Group 4 state title game.

An attorney for the school says he will appeal the decision to the New Jersey Supreme Court.
