The Long Beach Press-Telegram reports that Long Beach Poly and De La Salle have verbally agreed to playing during Week 7 of the 2015 season.

The two California powerhouses have played twice – 2001 and 2002 – with DLS winning both games, including in 2001 when the two were ranked #1 and #2 in America in the middle of the Spartans’ 151 game win streak.  Last year, De La Salle finished #2 in the national in High School Football America’s Top 25.  De La Salle won the CIF Open Division title.

Above you can watch highlights from the 2001 game as future NFL running back Maurice Jones-Drew scored four touchdowns in De La Salle 29-15 win before nearly 17,000 fans in Long Beach’s Veterans Stadium.
