Oceanside Pirates footballOceanside High School has found John Carroll‘s replacement.  David Rodriguez, who built Arizona’s Sahuarita High School into a state title contender, has been hired to take over the Southern California program.

Rodriguez was 36-9 in four seasons as the head coach at Sahuarita.  Last season, the Mustangs reached the Arizona Division IV state semifinals while going 12-1.  In 2011, the year before Rodriguez took over the Sahuarita program, the Mustangs were winless.

Carroll led Oceanside to two California Bowl Championship Game titles before retiring earlier this year.  You can listen to my interview with Carroll in January below.
