For the third time in four years, Archbishop Wood sits atop the Pennsylvania Class AAA football world. Wood’s 33-14 win over Central Valley on Friday moves them into a second-place tie with Allentown Central Catholic and Thomas Jefferson for the most AAA titles won. Berwick leads the classification with six overall titles with four of them coming in a row between 1994 and 1997.
Wood, under head coach Steve Devlin, has become a power in AAA with five championship game appearances and three titles since 2008.
