After a couple of weeks of no additions or subtractions to the High School Football America Southern California Top 25, we welcome a new team to the rankings — Rancho Verde. The Mustangs have ripped-off ten straight wins since losing their season opener to Redondo Union. RV’s new ranking will be put the the test this Friday when they travel to #17 Cathedral in the quarterfinal round of the CIF Southern Section Division 3 playoffs.

Chaminade and Valencia are this week’s big movers.  Both jumped seven spots.

Chaminade checks-in at #9 after taking-down former #10 Long Beach Poly.  This week the Eagles host #2 Corona Centennial in the CIF Southern Section Division 1 quarterfinals.  Valencia is #16 this week with a Division 2 quarterfinal match-up on Friday against Arroyo Grande.

And, the most interesting match-ups this week will be in Mission Viejo, where the #4 Diablos will square-off with #6 Rancho Cucamonga.  Both teams are undefeated with MV riding a 39-game win streak.

In all, there will be six games Friday night that feature Top 25 battles.  Aside from the Chaminade/Corona Centennial, Rancho Verde/Cathedral and Mission Viejo/Rancho Cucamonga games, #1 Mater Dei travels to #13 Vista Murrieta, #3 St. John Bosco will take-on #14 Santa Margarita at Saddleback College and #12 Heritage will host #21 San Clemente.
