Rice Memorial wins third straight Vermont Division II football title

Rice Memorial high school footballRice Memorial used a high-power running game to win its third straight Vermont Division II championship with a 60-14 victory over Fair Haven Saturday.

According to the Burlington Free Press, Chris Jansen rushed for 329 yards and five touchdowns in the victory that tied the Division II record for most points scored in a championship game.  Anthony Phillip scored three times for Rice, while rushing for 187 yards.

Rice Memorial finishes 9-1 on the season, while Fair Haven, the #4 seed in the playoffs, finishes 7-4
