Rochester wins 5th straight Illinois high school football title

Rochester is now just two titles away from tying now-closed Driscoll Catholic‘s Illinois record of winning seven straight state football titles.  The Rockets won their fifth straight Friday night with a 49-28 win over Phillips (12-2) from Chicago.

Rochester (12-2) was led by junior quarterback Dan Zeigler, who completed 17 of 31 passes for 302 yards and three touchdowns.  Senior running back Evan Sembell added 177 yards on the ground with two touchdowns.  For the game, the Rockets put up 525 yards in total offense
