St. John Bosco moves to No. 2 in California Top 25, readies for No. 1 Mater Dei

The road to the team in California for 2016 is pretty much laid-out.  Mater Dei controls its destiny heading into the final three weeks of the season.  If the Monarchs can get by #2 St. John Bosco on Saturday night at Angel Stadium in the CIF Southern Section Division 1 championship game, the Santa Ana school will probably be the favorite to win the CIF Open Division championship.  With Corona Centennial now out of the picture after losing 49-47 to St. John Bosco on Friday, Mater Dei and the Braves seem to be head-and-shoulders above the rest of the teams in the state, although Cathedral Catholic at #4, De La Salle at #6 and Freedom at #10 think they will have something to say about that.

There’s not a lot of movement in the latest High School Football America California Top 25 that is created with our our proprietary algorithm.  Cathedral Catholic, which will play #14 Helix for the CIF San Diego Section Open Division title, is the biggest mover in the Top 10, jumping two spots this week to #4.

Del Oro is the biggest overall mover as it picks-up four spots to #19.

The only newcomer this week is Madison, which will play St. Augustine in the CIF San Diego Division 1 championship.  The Warhawks check-in at #23 this week.
