There are 86 head-to-head match-ups in the High School Football America Preseason 100. The first 100 vs. 100 comes one month from tomorrow when No. 50 Rome, the two-time defending Georgia state champ, puts its 27-game win streak on the line against No. 57 Marietta in the Corky Kell Classic in Georgia.

Marietta plays one of the toughest schedules in the nation with games against No. 3 Grayson (Georgia), No. 7 Good Counsel (Maryland), No. 9 St. John’s College High School (Washington D.C.) and No. 85 McEachern (Georgia).

Northcutt Stadium, home of the Marietta Blue Devils, ranked No. 57 in the High School Football America Preseason 100.

Speaking of St. John’s, the defending Washington Catholic Athletic Conference champs play the most grueling schedule in the nation with six games against teams in the Preseason 100. In addition to WCAC opponents No. 7 Good Counsel and No. 53 DeMatha (Maryland), the Cadets play No. 5 IMG Academy (Florida), No. 6 Hoover (Alabama), No. 14 Miami Central (Florida) and No. 57 Marietta.

Preseason No. 1 Mater Dei (California) has four nationally-ranked teams — No. 4 St. John Bosco (California), No. 5 IMG Academy, No. 10 Bishop Gorman (Nevada) and No. 42 Orange Lutheran (California).

No. 3 Grayson has four Top 100 match-ups — aside from Marietta, the Rams have No. 8 Bergen Catholic (New Jersey), No. 37 Colquitt County (Georgia) and No. 66 Archer (Georgia)

Like Marietta, No. 5 IMG has five Top 100 opponents. Aside from top-ranked Mater Dei, the Ascenders play No. 9 St. John’s, No. 6 Hoover, No. 45 Liberty (Nevada) and No. 99 Northwestern (Florida).

Preseason No. 6 Hoover also has four ranked opponents — aside from IMG, the Bucs play No. 9 St. John’s, No. 28 Hewitt-Trussville (Alabama) and No. 54 Thompson (Alabama).

No. 7 Good Counsel has four Top 100 games. The Falcons have their WCAC foes St. John’s and DeMatha, plus No. 12 St. Joseph’s Prep (Pennsylvania) and No. 57 Marietta.

No. 8 Bergen Catholic (New Jersey), has a schedule that’s worthy of challenging for our “mythical” national championship. The Crusaders open with No. 3 Grayson and then play No. 13 DePaul Catholic, No. 18 St. Joseph Regional (Montvale) and No. 72 St. Peter’s Prep in the always rough New Jersey Super Football Conference United Red Division.

SJR is tied with IMG and Marietta with five Top 100 games. Aside from BC, DePaul Catholic and St. Peter’s Prep, the Green Knights play No. 48 Imhotep Charter (Pennsylvania) and No. 55 American Heritage (Plantation, Florida).

No. 14 Miami Central, which plays a brutal non-league schedule in addition to its tough South Florida grind, plays No. 9 St. John’s, No. 17 St. Thomas Aquinas (Florida), No. 38 Cardinal Gibbons (Florida) and district foe No. 99 Northwestern (Florida). The Rockets also have No. 101 Booker T. Washington and Carol City, which is just outside of our Top 125.
