Valdosta remains No. 1 on America’s All-Time Wins List

Three teams entered the exclusive 800 All-Time Wins Club during the 2017 season, but Valdosta still reigns supreme all by itself as the only member of the 900 Wins Club.  Hampton (Virginia) Berwick (Pennsylvania) and Steubenville (Ohio) won their 800th games last season, which means there are now fourteen schools that have 800 or more lifetime victories.

Now, it should be pointed out that I’m using the National Federations of High School Association Record Book that doesn’t always match what the schools themselves list as their win totals.  Examples of this would be that Hampton celebrated its 800th in 2015, but the NFHS record book listed the Crabbers with 799 victories coming into last season.  Easton Area High School, my hometown team, has said for years that it has more wins than the 822 listed by the NFHS.

This list was created by taking the NFHS’ win total through the 2016 season and combining that number with 2017 team win totals.

Heading into 2018, Lawton (Oklahoma) is on the brink of #800 with 799 wins.  The Pine Bluff Zebras from Arkansas will need six victories this year to reach the exclusive club. Clinton (Oklahoma) and Brockton (Massachusetts) sit at 791 victories.
