DeMatha going after 4th straight WCAC title

DeMatha (Maryland), ranked #4 in the latest High School Football America National Top 50, takes-on #26 St. John’s College High School (Washington, D.C.) Saturday afternoon at the University of Maryland for the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference championship.

The game is a rematch from the regular season when DeMatha edged SJC by one point 14-13.  In that game, with just over three minutes to play, St. John’s decided to go for a two-point conversion after pulling to within a point.  The Dematha defense rose to the occasion to prevent the Cadets attempt to take the lead and held-on for the victory.

DeMatha is looking for its fourth straight WCAC title, while St. John’s is trying for its first league title since 1989.  St. John’s hasn’t beaten the Stags since 1994.

DeMatha brings an 11-0 record into the game and is looking for its first undefeated season since 2006.  St. John’s is 8-3 with loses to #2 IMG Academy (Florida), #4 DeMatha and Gonzaga (Washington, D.C.)
