#1 vs. #2 to decide top team in California 25

California high school football rankings

Saturday night’s game CIF Open Division championship game between #1 Corona Centennial and #2 De La Salle will decide who’s the best team in California this year.

Both teams have had outstanding seasons and the roles would have been reversed if DLS had won its season opener against Euless Trinity in Texas.  The Spartans began the season as the top team in our National Top 25 and California 25, but fell off the top perch after that loss on national television in the Lone Star State.

Friday night’s Division I-AA championship game between #4 Mission Viejo and Bellarmine will also shape our final rankings that come-out on Sunday.

The Division I-A championship game will also feature Top 25 teams as #10 Clayton Valley squares-0ff with Narbonne.  In Division II-AA, it will be #16 Camarillo facing #19 Del Oro, which enters the rankings for the first time this week after a 2-6 start to the season.
