131 Utah Seniors Land College Football Scholarships in 2010

If you’re a regular reader of the Utah High School Football Huddle, you know I love the coverage that the Deseret News provides when it comes to high school sports throughout the state.

Today, I want to share with you some great research by the newspaper that summarizes how many senior athletes received athletic scholarships during the 2010-11 school year.

According to the report, 131 senior football players received scholarships last year.  32 of the players were awarded Division I scholarships, while the remaining 99 players fell outside of Division I.  Last season, 2,253 seniors participated in the sport.
