American Heritage (Plantation), ranked #14 in the latest High School Football America National Top 25, beat Ponte Vedra 35-33 on Friday to win Florida’s 5A state title, the third title for the Patriots in the last four years.
American Heritage fell behind 13-0 during the first three minutes, but behind quarterback Jason Brown, the Patriots stormed back to take a 21-20 halftime lead. Brown was 13-of-16 passing for 81 yards with one touchdown pass, plus he ran for 72 yards on 11 carries and three TDs.
