St. Joseph Regional (Montvale, New Jersey) jumped-out to a 17-0 first quarter lead and then relied on its defense for a 17-7 win over Gardena Serra (California) in the 2016 Honor Bowl in Mission Viejo, California. It was the season-opener for the Green Knights, who are ranked #15 in the High School Football America Top 25, while Serra (0-3) was playing its third game of the year.
