St. John Bosco, which began the year ranked #1 in the High School Football America National Top 25, solidified its position as #2 in the nation Saturday night with a 56-33 win over #45 De La Salle in the CIF Open Division championship. The Braves captured their second overall state title behind a punishing ground game that led it to victory two weeks ago against then #3 Mater Dei.
After falling behind 7-0 after De La Salle’s first possession and battling through 7-7 and 14-14 ties, Bosco ground-out 356 yards rushing.
