Friday, High School Football America revealed that Hoover is ranked #2 in our preseason Top 25.

Monday, when practice began across the state al.com took a look at who it considers the state’s top candidates for the Alabama Sports Writers Association’s 2014 Mr. Football Award, which includes Hoover running back Bradrick Shaw, who scored 25 touchdowns to lead the Buccaneers to their second straight state title.  Shaw, who has been offered by nine schools, including Alabama, is ranked as the #14 overall prospect in Alabama by 247sports.com.

In all, nine players made the al.com list….

Lester Colton, OL – Central Tuscaloosa

Troy Dixon, RB – UMS-Wright

Nick Gibson, RB – Pinson Valley

Jamarius Henderson, LB/RB – Dale County

Kerryon Johnson, DB/RB – Madison County

Tyler Johnston, QB – Spanish Fort

Keith Mixon, ATH – Shades Valley

Richard McBryde, LB – Charles Henderson

Bradrick Shaw, RB – Hoover

Lester Cotton, who has given his verbal to Alabama, is considered the state’s top recruit, according to 247sports.com.
