The 2016 Iowa high school football season on August 8th when practice begins. The first games in the Hawkeye State will begin the weekend of Thursday, August 25th. The first round of the playoffs begin on October 28th with the championships being played November 17th and 18th in the Dome at the University of Northern Iowa.
