Oxford captured the school’s first state title with a huge second half comeback against Oak Grove. Trailing 21-3 at the half, Oxford scored 28 unanswered points in the second half to capture the 6A title with a 31-21 victory.
In 4A, West Point, the No. 1 team in the High School Football America Mississippi Top 10, won its fourth straight state title with a 38-26 win over Picayune.
West Point has now claimed 11 overall Mississippi state football championships.
