For the first time in school history, the Carmel Rams are a New York high school football state champ. The Rams beat Bennett of Buffalo 42-12 for the state’s AA championship Saturday at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse.

Carmel, which entered the game ranked No. 7 in the High School Football America New York Top 10, powered by NFL Play Football, got out to a 21-0 lead and never looked back. The win caps a perfect 13-0 season for the Rams.

Syracuse’s Christian Brothers Academy captured the Class A championship by edging previously undefeated Somers 32-31. The state title is the first since CBA since 2004.

CBA sealed the win when Jason Brunson picked-off a two-point conversion attempt with 1:19 to go.

CBA was 3-3 heading into the postseason. Somers ends 2021 with a 12-1 record.

Maine-Endwell is back in the winner’s circle after beating Pleasantville 21-12 for the Class B title. The title is the first since 2014 for M-E.

Chenango Forks shut-out Schuylerville 21-0 to capture the Class C title. With no state championships in 2020 due to COVID-19, CF has now beaten Schuylerville in the last two Class C title games. The title is the seventh overall for the Blue Devils.

The Class D title goes to Tioga with a 27-0 shut-out of Moriah. The Tigers sealed the victory with 20 fourth quarter points. It gives the school its first football championship since 2015.
