Two-time defending Texas champ Westlake is the No. 1 team in the 2021 Preseason High School Football America Southwest Region Top 25 powered by NFL Play Football, the NFL’s initiative to provide fun and engaging experience for players of all ages and skill levels. The Chaparrals will also be in the national championship hunt, ranked No. 2 in the High School Football America 100 national preseason rankings.

Texas leads the region, which also includes Oklahoma and New Mexico, with 22 teams.

Bixby is the highest ranked of the three Oklahoma teams in the Top 25. The Spartans, who have won three straight state champs, are ranked No. 9.
