After a 3-3 start to the 2021 high school football season, Essex is Vermont’s Division I state champ. The Hornets beat Champlain Valley 21-19 Saturday for the school’s first state football championship since 2009.

The Division II title goes to Bellows Falls after a 57-35 win over Mount Anthony. It’s the school’s first title since 2016.

Bellows Falls finishes a perfect 11-0.

Windsor won the school’s fifth overall state high school football title with a 53-7 win over Bellows Falls Academy/Lamoille for the Division III title.
