The 2022 Georgia high school football state semifinals are set.
Friday night, all four of the reigning champs still in the field of 64, won their quarterfinal games.
Two-time defending 5A champ Warner Robins continued to rebound from its 1-4 start with an overtime win over nationally-ranked Creekside. The Demons won 31-28 on Daniel Barber’s last play of the game field goal.
WR started the season No. 22 in the the High School Football America preseason national rankings, powered by NFL Play Football. Creekside, which entered the game ranked No. 68 in the nation, finishes 2022 with a 10-3 record.
2021 4A champ Benedictine advanced to the state semifinals for the three year in a row with a 34-14 win over Stockbridge. Next up for the Cadets is Troup County next week.
In 3A, Cedar Grove, ranked No. 30 in the nation, continues its drive for a fifth state title in six years with an impressive 30-0 shutout of No. 243 Calvary Day from Savannah. It was the first loss of the season for the Cavaliers, who finish the year 11-1.
Fitzgerald is in the 2A semis after beating Rockmart 21-14 in OT.
