As we head into 2023, High School Football America celebrates the 2022 season with a list of EVERY high school football state champ in America.

The longest active state championship streak belongs to Alcoa High School, winners of eight straight Tennessee high school football championships. The Tornadoes broke their own state-record of seven straight titles (2004-2010) with a 45-26 win over East Nashville. Overall, Alcoa now owns a state-record 21 state championships.

Alcoa finished 2022 ranked No. 95 in the High School Football America 300 national rankings, powered by NFL Play Football.

The next longest streak belongs to Virginia’s Riverheads High. The Gladiators won their seventh straight 1A title with a 49-27 win over George Wythe. Next year, Riverheads will move up to Virginia’s 2A classification.

Like Alcoa, Southern Columbia set a new Pennsylvania state record. The Tigers captured their sixth straight state title with a 37-22 win over Westinghouse. SC’s 13 overall titles is the most in Pennsylvania high school football history.

Matching Southern Columbia is South Dakota’s Pierre T.F. Riggs. The Governors won their sixth straight title with a 35-20 win over Tea Area.

South Carolina’s Hammond School is also on a six-game championship streak. The Skyhawks beat Laurence Manning Academy 52-0 for the first-ever AAAA title in the South Carolina Independent School Association. The school now owns 20 overall high school football state championships.

Two schools — Bryant (Arkansas) and Bixby (Oklahoma) — won their fifth straight state championships in 2022.

Bryant extended its state championship streak in Class 7A with a 36-7 win over Bentonville. The Hornets finished 2022 ranked No. 50 in America.

Bixby saw its 58-game win streak come to an end in 2022. However, the Spartans were able to rebound to capture their first Class 6A Division I title. Previously, Bixby, ranked No. 79 in the HSFA 300, had won four straight Class 6A Division II titles.
