Fall camps in Indiana open on August 1 with the regular season starting August 19.

Below are the key dates for the 2022 season:

  • First Practice — August 1
  • First Games — August 19
  • Playoffs Begin —October 21 (5A, 4A, 3A, 2A, 1A); October 28 (6A)
  • Championships — November 25-26 at Lucas Oil Stadium, home of the Indianapolis Colts

Reigning 6A champ Center Grove and reigning 5A champ Cathedral enter 2022 looking for three-peats. Center Grove is on a 28-game win streak, which includes wins over Cathedral in 2020 and 2021, the only two losses suffered by the Fighting Irish in the last two seasons.

Once again this year, the two schools will close-out the regular season against each other. The October 14 game will be played at Center Grove.

Center Grove will have a different looking year, since the Trojans and Carmel were voted out of the Metropolitan Interscholastic Conference.

Last year, both schools finished highly-ranked in the High School Football America 100 national rankings, powered by NFL Play Football. Center Grove finished No. 11 in America. Cathedral finished No. 28 in the nation.
