The top high school football team in the High School Football America Hawaii Top 10, powered by NFL Play Football, is loaded with talent. Kahuku has five players in the Top 11 of 247Sports Composite rankings for the Class of 2023.
Lineback Liona Lefau, a Texas commit, is the No. 2 overall player in the state. The Red Raiders defense is expected to be outstanding with Lefau being joined in the linebacker corp by Leonard Ah You, the No. 4 prospect in the state.
Also on the defensive side of the ball for Kahuku is safety Brock Fonolmoana (No. 6) and defensive lineman Stanley Raass (No. 11).
On offense, Kahuku will look to explosive wide receiver Kainoa Carvalho, ranked as the No. 7 overall recruiting in the composite rankings. The Utah-recruit finished last year with 64 receptions for 1,029 yards and 10 TDs.
The top player in the state is offensive lineman Iapani Laloulu of St. Louis. The 6-2, 355-pounder currently owns eight college football scholarship offers — Arizona, California, Florida, Hawaii, Miami (Florida) Oregon, Tennessee and Virginia.
