It’s hard to find many faults in the start to the 2016 season for the nationally-ranked Mater Dei Monarchs. Friday night, legendary head coach Bruce Rollinson‘s crew moved to 4-0 with a 62-7 win over Upland (2-2), which entered the game ranked #20 in the High School Football America Southern California Top 25. We currently have the Mater Dei ranked #3 nationally and #1 in the state, in Southern California and in the West Region.
Friday night, once again, sophomore quarterback J.T. Daniels was at the head of the stat sheet. It was another short night, but Daniels completed 19 of 24 passes for 370 yards and six touchdowns in the first half that saw Mater Dei (4-0) take a 56-0 lead into the locker room, according to OCVarsity.com.
Mater Dei has now topped the sixty point mark three times in its first four games. The Monarchs have outscored their opponents 236 to 21.
Next-up for Mater Dei is Edison, ranked #12 in the current High School Football America SoCal Top 25, on Friday.
