#35 Loyola Academy captures Catholic League Blue Title with win over

Loyola Academy, the #35 in the High School Football America National Top 50, capped a perfect regular season with a 48-37 win over previously unbeaten Brother Rice (8-1) on Saturday, giving the Ramblers the Catholic League Blue title.  Both teams entered the game a perfect 8-0 with Loyola being the top team in the latest High School Football America Illinois Top 10 and Brother Rice ranked #3 in the state.

Loyola (9-0), the defending 8A state champs, trailed 23-21 at halftime and then traded lead changes four times before finally taking the lead for good at 41-37 on an Alex King touchdown run with 6:36 left in the game.  Click here to read a complete recap from the Chicago Tribune.

Both teams now enter the Illinois state playoffs that begin next week.
