49 Texas high school football teams are in the running to be in the Preseason High School Football America 100 national high school football rankings will be released next month. Monday, we released the High School Football America 300, a state-by-state list of the top teams that have a shot at starting the season in the HSFA 100.
Texas has the second-most teams in the Top 300, behind Florida, which has 53 teams.
Defending Class 6A Division I champ Westlake was the highest ranked team in our national rankings last year, finishing No. 3 in the Top 100. In all 21 Texas high school football teams were in the HSFA 100, the most in the nation.
