Madison County head coach Mike Coe is leaving for Coffee High School in Douglas, Georgia. Coe led the Cowboys to six state championship games, winning titles in 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2021.

Last year’s championship led to Madison County finishing No. 18 in the High School Football America Small Schools Top 25 national rankings.

Coe, who is a member of the Florida Athletic Coaches Association Hall of Fame, has been Madison County’s head coach since 2010. Since then, the Cowboys own a record of 135-26.

Coffee is coming-off a 7-3 season under Robby Pruitt, who resigned earlier this month to take the head coaching job at Williston High in Florida. The Trojans lost in the opening round of the 5A playoffs last season.
