This could be a sign of things to come as we wait for states to make decisions on High School Football 2020.

Michigan-recruit J.J. McCarthy, a 5-star quarterback from Nazareth Academy, has announced he’s transferring out of Illinois to IMG Academy in Florida. He made the announcement on Twitter.

In his above statement is mentioned the “uncertainty of falls sports in the State of Illinois” as a reason for heading south.

McCarthy led Nazareth Academy to three straight Illinois state championships, winning the 7A title in 2018.

McCarthy is considered the No. 2 Pro-style quarterback in the 247sports.com composite rankings.
