The University Interscholastic League voted 3-0 on Thursday to put nationally-ranked Katy on one year probation, but not bounce the Tigers from their current playoff run for using an ineligible player in last week’s game.

Katy, currently ranked #9 in the High School Football America National Top 25, could have been forced to forfeit last week’s win, but according to KHOU.com, the committee was impressed with the “diligence Katy showed in its documentation.”
Friday night, the Tigers will play Manvel in the Class 6A Division II state quarterfinals.
