Chaminade-Madonna starts the year No. 1 in the Preseason High School Football America Florida Top 25 high school football rankings, powered by NFL Play Football. The Lions, who have won three straight state championships, open this weekend against two-time national champ St. John Bosco (California) on ESPN.

In our national rankings, C-M is ranked No. 3 and Bosco is No. 5.

No. 2 IMG Academy, No. 4 in the HSFA 300 national rankings, opens on the road against No. 35 Corner Canyon, the reigning Utah 6A champs.

No. 3 St. Thomas Aquinas will try to improve its chances of a national championship this weekend when it hosts No. 2 Bishop Gorman from Nevada. STA, ranked No. 7 nationally, is looking for its sixth straight state title.

No. 4 Cocoa opens in-state against Titusville.

Like the top three teams, American Heritage (Plantation) will play a highly-ranked out-of-state opponent, No. 9 Milton from Georgia.

Inside the Florida Top 25, there will be two head-to-head matchups. — No. 5 Miami Central hosts Lakeland, the 2023 4S state champ, and No. 13 Berkeley Prep, last year’s 2M champ, squares-off with No. 14 Clearwater Central Catholic.
