Massillon Washington starts 2024 where it ended 2023, at the top of the High School Football America Ohio Top 25 high school football rankings, powered by NFL Play Football. The Tigers are also highly-ranked in the HSFA 300 national rankings at No. 11 in America.

Thursday, the defending Division II champs will open the season in Oregon against Europe’s NFL Academy in the third annual Nike Football Kickoff Classic, an event sponsored by Nike and the NFL. The game will be played at 6:30 p.m. Eastern Time at Ronaldo Field on the Nike campus.

Three-time defending Division I champ St. Edward starts at No. 2 in the state and No. 13 nationally. The Eagles opens against No. 18 Pickerington North.

Archbishop Hoban, which lost to Massillon Washington in last year’s Division II championship game, starts at No. 3 and No. 28 in our Top 300. The Knights season opener is against Maryland’s Archbishop Spalding, ranked No. 64 nationally.

In addition to the St. Ed/Pickerington North, there are four other intra-Top 25 head-to-head matchups:

  • No. 5 Archbishop Moeller vs. No. 12 Princeton
  • No. 6 Springfield vs. No. 24 Winton Woods
