Last week’s one-point loss to Corner Canyon in Utah is now in IMG Academy’s rearview mirror. Thursday night, the Ascenders beat three-time reigning New Jersey Non-Public A state champ Bergen Catholic 27-14 at the Battle at the Beach IV in Ocean City, New Jersey.

IMG, ranked No. 10 in the latest High School Football America 300, powered by NFL Play Football, evened its record at 1-1 behind a strong performance from senior quarterback Ty Hawkins. The 4-star SMU-recruit ran for three scores and threw for one.

IMG returns to the Sunshine State for its next game. The Ascenders will play six-time Florida state champ Cocoa, ranked No. 15 in the latest HSFA 300.

BC, currently No. 11 in our national rankings, will be on the road next week to play No. 12 Washington Massillon from Ohio.
