Mater Dei (California) is in complete control of its own destiny and a possible fifth High School Football America national title since 2017. Friday night, the No. 1 ranked Monarchs dominated No. 2 Bishop Gorman (Nevada) 31-15 to solidify its grip on the top spot in the High School Football America 300 national high school football rankings, powered by NFL Play Football.

However, before Mater Dei can lock-up another “nati,” the Monarchs will have to navigate a brutal schedule that features seven-regular season games against teams that are all highly-ranked in the HSFA 300.

Of course, most fans are focusing on the October 25 showdown with arch-rival St. John Bosco (California). The Braves move from No. 3 to No. 2 in the latest rankings created with our proprietary algorithm.

Gorman drops one notch in the latest rankings to No. 3. The Gaels will try to rebound this week when they face Orange Lutheran (California), which soars 24 spots to No. 10 this week after beating No. 11 St. Frances Academy (Maryland) 15-13.

Georgia’s Milton holds at No. 4. This week, the Eagles will face No. 254 Blessed Trinity (Georgia).

St. Thomas Aquinas (Florida) moves up one spot this week to No. 5. The Raiders are now 2-1 after blowing-out former No. 45 Columbus (Miami, Florida) 42-6.

IMG Academy (Florida) jumps eight spots to No. 6 this week. The Ascenders picked-up a solid 34-13 win over Cocoa (Florida), which drops three spots to No. 18 this week.

Duncanville (Texas) moves from No. 8 to No. 7 after opening with a win No. 130 South Oak Cliff. The Panthers will get a big test this week when they host No. 11 St. Frances Academy.

Maryland’s Archbishop Spalding sits at No. 8, up nine spots, after shutting out No. 267 Archbishop Stepinac (New York). This week, the Cavaliers face No. 204 McDonogh (Maryland).

Bergen Catholic (New Jersey) climbs from No. 21 to No. 9 after taking-down former No. 9 Massillon Washington (Ohio).

The biggest mover this week is Kentucky’s Boyle County, the four-time Kentucky state champs soar from No. 230 to No. 21 after upsetting three-time Ohio Division I champ St. Edward 38-21. St. Ed drops from No. 7 to No. 22.

North Crowley (Texas) makes its first-ever appearance in the Top 25 after snapping DeSoto’s (Texas) 23-game win streak. The Panther are up 30 spots to No. 19 this week. DeSoto drops from No. 5 to No. 20.
