It was a fairly quiet week in the High School Football America Pennsylvania Top 25 high school football rankings, powered by NFL Play Football.
The big change was caused by Freedom’s (Bethlehem) 38-10 defeat former No. 8 Nazareth. The win moves the Patriots from No. 19 to No. 18 in the latest rankings created with our proprietary algorithm. The Blue Eagles slip to No. 23.
Roman Catholic continues to climb in the statewide rankings. RC moves from No. 5 to No. 3 after knocking-off former No. 4 Malvern Prep 21-17. The loss drops the Friars one spot to No. 5.
The win moves the Cahillite from No. 164 to No. 132 in the HSFA 300 national rankings. This week, RC plays Maryland’s DeMatha, which is currently ranked No. 44 in the nation.
Reigning 5A champ Imhotep Charter, which is playing in 6A this season, suffered its first loss of the year. The Panthers lost to Illinois-power East St. Louis 35-14. ESL entered the game ranked No. 28 in the HSFA 300. The loss dropped the Panthers from No. 57 to No. 67 in our national rankings.
There’s one head-to-head inside the Top 25 this week. No. 20 Strath Haven takes on No. 21 Garnet Valley.
