Nationally-ranked Folsom, No. 50 in the High School Football America 300, powered by NFL Play Football, will not be playing Davis this Saturday.  the Davis Joint Unified School District has decided to forfeit its Sierra Foothill League game, citing injury and safety concerns.

According to The Davis Enterprise, the team only had 21 players available.

Athletic Director Mark McGreevy told the media outlet, “Most of those play both ways, or even three ways, with special teams. Some of them are key positions on the (offensive and defensive) lines. It’s not a decision we take lightly. It was a collective decision going all the way up to coaching staff to the district office.”

The forfeit improves Folsom to 4-1.
