There’s a lot of movement inside the first in-season High School Football America New York Top 10 high school football rankings, powered by NFL Play Football.

Cardinal Hayes remains a solid No. 1. The Cardinals opened with a 33-28 win over Catholic Memorial, one of the top teams in Massachusetts.

Chaminade breaks into the Top 10 at No. 3 after opening with a 31-28 win over preseason No. 4 St. Anthony’s and then a 27-0 win over John Jay.

Preseason No. 3 Archbishop Stepinac tumbles from No. 3 to No. 5 after losing 40-14 to Maryland’s McDonogh and 45-0 to Archbishop Spalding (Maryland). Both teams are ranked nationally.

The biggest surprise in the first two weeks was Rye’s 31-21 win over preseason No. 5 Monsignor Farrell, which brings the Garnets into the state rankings No. 6.
