As far as the latest High School Football America Florida Top 25 high school football rankings, powered by NFL Play Football, Norland moves from No. 9 to No. 7 after a 33-14 win over former No. 5 Cocoa. The loss drops the two-time reigning state champs to No. 11.
Next up for Norland is a showdown with No. 8 American Heritage (Plantation) on Saturday. Cocoa will try to rebound against Apopka, which is currently ranked No. 265 in the HSFA 300 national rankings.
Friday night, top-ranked St. Thomas Aquinas is scheduled to play No. 6 Chaminade-Madonna in a showdown between two of the best Florida high school football programs over the last decade. STA comes into the game having won a state record five straight state titles. C-M has won three straight.
