Reigning High School Football America national champ Mater Dei (California) is closing in on its fifth national title since 2017. Friday night, the Monarchs destroyed former No. 2 St. John Bosco (California) 59-14.

The win gives MD as piece of the Trinity League championship and a stronger hold on the top spot in the HSFA 300 national rankings, powered by NFL Play Football. The Monarchs also own a 31-15 win over Bishop Gorman (Nevada), which moves from No. 3 to No. 2 in the latest rankings.

St. John Bosco, which may get another crack at Mater Dei in the CIF-Southern Section Division I playoffs, fall four spots to No. 6 in the latest rankings created with our proprietary algorithm.

Mater Dei will close-out the regular season against No. 11 Orange Lutheran (California). A win over OLu will give the Monarchs the outright Trinity League title and the top-seed in the upcoming postseason.

Georgia’s Milton moves up a notch to No. 3. This Friday, the Eagles will host No. 72 Roswell for the Class 5A Region 7 championship.

Both Duncanville (Texas) and IMG Academy (Florida) move-up a spot to No. 4 and No. 5, respectively.

No. 9 North Shore grabbed a piece of the Texas District 23-6A title with a come-from-behind 27-23 win over Atascocita, which drops the Eagles from No. 19 to No. 20 this week.

DeSoto (Texas) returns to the Top 25 at No. 24 this week. Norland (Florida) moves up six spots to No. 25 after a 37-20 win over No. 268 Plantation (Florida).

Former No. 25 DePaul Catholic (New Jersey) tumbles to No. 53 after losing to Delbarton (New Jersey) 52-51 on a Hail Mary (below) that forced overtime.

The win moves Delbarton from No. 157 to No. 133.

Tennessee’s Ravenwood jumps from No. 160 to No. 102 after beating former No. 66 Oakland 32-31 in overtime. The Patriots fall to No. 103.

Alexandria (Louisiana) jumps 100 spots to No. 101 this week after beating former No. 72 Ruston (Louisiana) 40-36. Ruston falls to No. 104 after its second straight loss.
