For the first time ever, Westfield is No. 1 in the High School Football America Indiana Top 10 high school football rankings, powered by NFL Play Football. The Shamrocks ascend to the top of our statewide rankings after former No. 1 Brownsburg was upset by unranked Hamilton Southeastern 30-23 in the season finale for both.
Even though Brownsburg beat Westfield 17-13 on September 28, the Bulldogs fall a notch behind Westfield in our final regular season rankings that are created with our proprietary algorithm.
Both teams are in opposite brackets in Class 6A, so it’s possible that they two could set thing in the state championship game at Lucas Oil Stadium.
Lawrence North continues its climb. The Wildcats, who could face Brownsburg in the state quarterfinals, move up three spots to No. 3 after closing out the regular season a perfect 9-0.
Warren Central is up four positions to No. 4 after beating former No. 5 Cathedral 34-28. The Fighting Irish drop to No. 5.
The postseason in begins this weekend for Classes 4A, 3A, 2A and 1A. The 6A and 5A postseason begin in two weeks.
