Alaska crowns first girls’ flag high school football champ

North Pole High School is celebrating history today after becoming Alaska’s first-ever girls’ flag high school football champ. The Patriots beat Service 27-6 in the state championship game at Wasilla High School that capped a day that saw eight teams battle for the state title.

To reach the championship game, North Pole beat Chugiak 14-0 in the state quarterfinals and West Anchorage 26-19 in the semifinals.
